Our “Copyright and Your Emory Thesis or Dissertation” workshop is a series of four videos that we have made available online. To access the videos, click the link above and self-enroll in the Workshops at the Emory Woodruff Library Canvas Course. Once in the course, click on “Modules” and scroll down to “Module: Copyright & Your Emory Thesis or Dissertation” to access the series of four videos that include the following:

  1. Copyright Basics - Learn the basics of U.S. copyright law. 
  2. Fair Use - Understand how to apply the fair use exemption in copyright law to your thesis or dissertation.  
  3. Getting Permission - Learn how to ask a rights holder for permission to reuse their copyrighted work. 
  4. Impact of Publication - Learn more about how previous publication of parts of your dissertation or thesis can impact you.
